For the adventurous souls who undertake these horseback expeditions there are other benefits; for most a packtrip is a relaxing retreat away from the pressures and frantic pace of modern life, a chance to lose all sense of time and urgency, and an opportunity for solitude and reflection amidst the softening influences of nature.
The dates posted on the trip description pages are for Set DepartureTrips. Our set departure trips are scheduled with a set destination, date, and trip length. We will book individuals and small groups on these packtrips until we reach our capacity of six to eight guests.
In 2010 we are offering pack trips to three destinations: Slough Creek in Yellowstone Park, the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness north of the Park, and Elkhorn Basin in the Madison Range. Trip descriptions, dates and prices can be found by linking to these pages from the nav-bar.
A high country pack trip is made up of many treasured moments; the early morning sun painting the peaks, fresh grizzly tracks on a sandbar, a brightly colored trout rising to a dry fly, or perhaps the hoarse bugle of a bull elk in rut.
If you have a party of five or more and don't find the dates or destinations you are looking for among our scheduled trips, please email or give us a call to discuss the possibility of a Custom Designed Trip.
This type of arrangement can accommodate Private Parties and offers a lot of flexibility in dates, length of trip, destinations, and activities.
