Set Departure Trips:
The dates posted on the trip description pages are for set departure trips. Our set departure trips are scheduled with a set destination, date, and trip length. We will book individuals and small groups on these packtrips until we reach our capacity of six to eight guests. |

Custom Designed Trips:
If you have a party of five or more and don't find the dates or destinations you are looking for among our scheduled trips, please email or give us a call to discuss the possibility of a custom designed trip. This type of arrangement can accommodate private parties and offers a lot of flexibility in dates, length of trip, destinations, and activities. |

Reservations:
Reservations should be made as far in advance as possible so that we can meet your specific needs. Inital questions are often easiest asked and answered by email. We believe a visit by telephone is important, however. It allows us to learn from you first hand your expectations for the trip and general abilities in the outdoors. A phone call gives you an opportunity to establish personal contact. |

Deposit & Balance Of Payment:
A deposit of 50% of trip fare per person will reserve any date of your choice that has available space. Payment may be made by Visa or MasterCard. The final balance of payment must be received a minimum of sixty days prior to your expeditions departure date. |

|
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
After you have made your reservation we will likely turn away other clients for the same dates. For this reason the deposit is nonrefundable. Any payments made toward final balance of trip fare (beyond deposit) will be fully refundable should you be unable to make the trip. No refunds will be given on any expedition in progress. |

Limitations:
We do not recommend these expeditions to anyone with respiratory disorders, heart trouble, or any condition that may be aggravated by altitude. For wildfire liability reasons and in consideration of our nonsmoking guests we are strictly a nonsmoking outfit. As horses are physically limited in how much weight they can safely carry we have a guest weight limit of 240 pounds. Due to the rugged character of the country and the inherent dangers associated with travel by horseback, we generally limit the age of our backcountry participants to no less than twelve . |

Connecting Travel:
Should you wish to fly, Bozeman is serviced by Delta, Northwest, and Horizon airlines year-round. Flights into Bozeman are often booked full well in advance. We recommend you make your airline reservations as early as possible. If feasible plan on arrival in Bozeman no later than 2pm on the day prior to your trip departure date. This allows you time to pick up any last minute necessities as well as a little time to rest up from your journey to Montana. If you are traveling by auto, let us know if you need information and directions on the best routes. |

Pre & Post-trip Accommodations:
Our clients generally make arrangements for pre-trip and post-trip accommodations in town. We give our highest recommendation to the Best Western GranTree Inn. They have complementary shuttles to and from the airport. While you are on your trip the Inn will allow you to store luggage, travel clothes, etc., at no extra charge. A word of advice... make your reservations (800) 624-5865 as early as possible. The GranTree is a popular place to stay and is often booked well in advance. Be sure to tell them you are vacationing with us as they will discount the room rate. If the GranTree is full or is a little spendier than you would like, we recommend the Comfort Inn (800) 587-3833. The Comfort Inn is within a three minute walk of the GranTree so our pre-trip meeting and shuttle will work smoothly if you choose to stay there. |

Gratuities:
The guides, packers, and cooks we have on staff are professionals. They work hard to insure you have an enjoyable vacation. If the quality of service you received justifies a thank you ... it is customary to personally give a modest gratuity to staff at the conclusion of the packtrip. |

Equipment List:
We will send you recommendations on personal equipment as well as fishing equipment when you book your trip. Participants are limited to 50 lbs. of personal gear. MLO works under the authority of the USDA Forest Service and the National Park Service. Both agencies mandate the use of as few pack mules as possible on our packtrips. Going light is an essential part of the wilderness experience. |
